Share with others!

I've been sharing with others Rosie's message that anyone can run.  I've been talking to my sister a lot about Rosie's method and I'm happy to share that she did her first run last night.  I am sooooo excited for her and know that she can keep going!  I'm happy to provied the uplift and support for her that Rosie does for me.

As a group we go running on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.  We do our own runs on Saturday, it's a good time to think about life and challenge ourselves individually.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays we do cross training.  This morning I did a Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout routine with weights.  I'm tired but ready to face my day!

What to wear!

As we were running up and down a steep hill this morning (in the wind), Rosie was trying to get me to concentrate on anything but the hill.  She reminded me of the first day we went running together.  I was so self conscience!  I had gained a lot of weight in my chest, and the last thing I wanted was to bounce around while running.  I ended up putting on 3 sports bras, one of which was a couple of sizes too small.  Just walking made me breathless.  Rosie started running me and I couldn't breathe.  I was humiliated!  After 2 2minute runs I had to stop and remove some excess support.  I couldn't believe how much easier it was to run after that.  I haven't made that same mistake again, however, I am glad that we are going at 6:00 a.m. to avoid any public bouncing.

I am so looking forward to our run tomorrow!

Why I'm running!

I've recently discovered that, after years of neglect and denial, I am overweight! I have however found help from a friend named Rosie. I am one of her runners. This blog will chronicle how Rosie got me and others out of our comfort zones and into the streets, through trails, up hills, over the river and through the woods, oh wait that's a song, but outdoors none the less. Rosie is training us to run a half marathon. I was skeptical at first but her motivation is keeping me going. It's been four weeks and I'm still at it. Hopefully reading what I and the rest of "Rosie's Runners" may write will inspire others to make life changes that will be a blessing to them and their loved ones.
